At 17 it’s quite normal to think you know it all- I was definitely a prime contributer. I had recently been dumped my by first love and one of the main things he told me he loved most about me was the fact that ‘I didn’t give it up’. As a way of rebellion, I was determined to make him sorry he had not stayed with me. My Senior year was one that many may be able to identify with. Parties, parties, parties! A good guy friend of mine stood in replacement to my Ex and allowed me to have fun with my friends but still have a makeout partner if the opportunity ever arose. At one particular party, I had a few too many drinks for my petite frame to handle and my judgement became blurred. My ‘friend with benefits’ was in attendance and he asked me to go check out his new truck. While sitting in the large Chevy, our makeout session quickly turned into both of our clothes falling off. Before I knew it, he slid inside me..with little, to no pain (lucky me). It was quick, and by my standards, pretty damn good for a first time. At the time, I did not regret it. I thought of it as a way of ‘growing up’ but as just 4 years have flown by, I can’t help but wish I would have waited to give my virginity to someone of more importance. I am still very good friends with my ‘friends with benefits’, and even this year he was my New Years Kiss. But as you grow up you realize that ‘losing it in the back of a truck’, isn’t always the best way to rebel.
