I bought a new dress, got my hair done. I expected that he would be proposing to me that night. We were going to this great restaurant, he had made reservations, everything was to be wonderful. We got to the restaurant and ordered. I waited. I couldn’t help but see that he hadn’t smiled all night long. He looked at me, took my hand and said,”Denae, you and I have been together for a long time. I need to tell you something now.” I waited, breathless. “Denae, I don’t feel as if I could see myself with you forever. I’ve been seeing someone else. I know this must be difficult.” I was crying, people were staring. I stood up, desperately trying to remain graceful and walked out. As I climbed into my pickup, I dialed my best friends cell. I told Kaitlin that I needed to talk to someone and she told me to come right over.
