My guitar teacher told me about this band that was looking for a rhythm guitar player,they were a bit older but he said I would be a good fit.It was a graet fit,
here I was,15 years old in a band with 18 and 19 year old
guys who never knew (or bothered to ask)my age.At least once a week we would play in one of six or seven local places to the fake ID crowd.Don,the lead singer was turning 19 one weekend and we playing Friday night at a bar with a patio/deck that opened onto the beach.This place was packed beyond crowded and the band was making the crowd quite happy.Don has three sisters who all showed
up to his birthday gig each with a carload of girlfriends.
A dream come true, at the end of the set we took a break and th DJ came on to keep the crowd moving.I moved out to the beach with the girl who had been eyeing me while I was
playing.She was extremely playful and giddy and couldn’t wait to climb the ladder to the lifeguard chair.I had up to this point in my life fooled around a little but tonight I was in all sorts of new territory.Naturaly I wanted this to go all night but we finished and went back to the bar.
I found out later that the whole thing had been set up by the guys in the band.Thanks guys where ever you are now and thanks Genete,it’s a night I will always remember.
