My brother was in officer training. He lived closest to the base, so often his buddies would come home and stay with him on the weekend. It always ended up a big party. At just 14, I was the youngest of his sisters. He was usually pretty protective, but he did allow us to join the fun–which included lots of heavy drinking. Our parents were proud to have this handsome bunch of officers around, so they pretty much looked the other way, either that or assumed they were an honorable bunch.
I was lying in my bed, in a simple nightshirt, when one of the officers came into my room. Everyone else in the house was asleep. I laid still, pretending that I was too. He slipped under my covers and began to feel my legs. He told me how strong they felt, that I must be an athelete. His hands inched up my thighs. I was scared to move. His breath smelled like he had just vomitted. Suddenly my door opened and another officer stood there. He said to the guy, i think you’re in the wrong room. His voice was deep, and he had a charming cajun accent. He quickly got of my bed and left. The other marine followed him. Well, quite awake at this point, I snuck down to the family room, thinking I’d watch tv. The cajun was down there. We sat in the dark talking. He held my hands. We began to kiss. He laid me on the floor and kissed me all over. He took my clothes off and his. His body was so hard. His hair was cut like every other jar head. He smelled like cheap after shave and beer. He entered me, it was hard to do. It hurt. He came. Then asked me if that was my first time. I said No. But he was not an idiot. We lay on the floor and kissed some more. I never saw him again. That was 15 years ago. I’m married with four kids. I still think about him. I’m never going to let my daughters play with Marines, though.
