It was a night for partying, full of a multi-color assortment of uppers downers and mindbenders. I had smoked about an eigth of PCP laced weed, drank close to a fifth of vodka, and taken a handful of unknown uppers. Needless to say I was an alcoholic in the pits of insanity. Then I went to the cooler, and got another drink, and headed for the hot tub. There she was, the most beutiful girl I had ever seen(of course I was seeing her through some realy thick beer glasses). I still do not remember much of that night the last thing I do remember was giving her a kiss; then I blacked out. The next morning I awoke in a camper, that was not mine. I rolled over to move away from the speaker that had been torturing me for the last couple minutes, since I had the worst hang-over ever. A girl, who I will never forget how ugly she was, was lying next to me in the bed. Needless to say I was very suprised and looked down to see if I was wearing any clothes, which I was not. She then awoke and started to babble about “last nigh” so I came out point blank and asked her, “Who the hell are you?” She then told me she was the girl I had kissed by the pool, and continued to tell me about the night of sex we had had. She thought that it was hillarious that I could not remember any of it.
This was by far not the last time that I was to expirence this type of thing. I have since become a member of Alcoholics Anonomous and have remained sober since July 20, 1998. While at an AA meeting the other night, a good friend of mine handed me a card; on the front it said, “When you were drinking you never went to bed with any ugly girls…” On the inside it said, “but I bet you woke up next to a few.” This card is what prompted me to write this story.
Basically, if you have a drinking problem call your local AA hall. The number can be found in the yellow pages of your phone book under “Alcoholism” and I guarantee that if you seriously work the program of AA you will never have to take another drink.
