I had this boyfriend once. He was my first real boyfriend and he was everything I could imagine. He was 17, blonde, blue eyed and suuuuper cute! We cared a whole lot about each other and he was the first boy I ever loved. The week before seven months of dating, I told him I wanted to have sex with him. He had asked a few times before and said no but this time I was certain. He was not a virgin so we did the right thing by taking him to go get tested and then bought condoms. His results were clean so we decided that we were going to do it the following weekend. We had the house to ourselves for a few hours that night. We then had sex. It didn’t hurt and there was no bleeding; I thought it was the best first experience I could of ever had because I was expressing my strong feelings for him in a way I never had before. The candle burning away on the bedside table that he lit was a pleasant mood setter. When we finished, he flipped me over and gave me a really good back massage with my favourite cream and was telling me how much he loved me. Everything about that night was magical. After all of that, we cuddled up on the couch and watched The Tale of Despereaux.
Less than one month later, he broke up with me saying he had lost the feeling of love and that it just wasn’t there any more. If you loved someone dearly only a few weeks earlier, how can you lose that affection for someone so quickly? This question clouds my mind every single day.
