I was a junior in college from the midwest on a trip to the west coast with a buddy. We drove thru Salt Lake City about dinner time and headed west on what then was the new I-80. Close to midnight, we stopped at a gas station in Elko and inquired as to where the local brothels were. Then as now they are located of the beaten path and did not have any exterior signs. My buddy and I both went in and picked a girl out of a lineup near the bar. After a little chitchat , I took mine back to her room where we negotiated a price. I paid 5 dollars for that first experience and will remember it for the rest of my life. I can’t remember what she looked like, but it was a memorable experience. I let her know it was my first time and I think she really put her heart into it. At that time (August 1965) you could still kiss the girls and didn’t have to wear a condum like they require now. I hear now that it can cost from $150 or $200 and up for a straight lay in the Nevada brothels.
