We were on a trip to a marching band competition a few hours
away from home, and the entire band was staying in a hotel.
I was a freshman in high school. There was a senior named Luke
that I had been eyeing for a while, and had talked to a bit. I
had the impression that he thought of me as a “little sister”,
but when a few of us hung out one night in his hotel room,
I found out I was wrong. We all stayed up talking for a few
hours, and people started to trickle out gradually. Finally
just him and me were left. We were sitting on the bed, when
he looked me straight in the eyes and asked, “What are you
thinking?” I didn’t know what to say, I’d had a huge crush
on this guy for the whole year, but because he was older I
knew that nothing was going to happen. My face got all red
and I said I didn’t know. He told me he knew, and then he
kissed me gently. Then he said he had liked me for a long
time, and that I was one of the most special people he’d met
that year. I told him the same, then he kissed me again.
Our clothes came off gradually, and he made love to me a bit
awkwardly (it was his first time also) but tenderly. We went
out for a while after that, and over the summer, but then he had
to go off to college and we said goodbye. But we kept in
touch while he was away, and even now we’re friends.
I still love him though, and I’ll always remember my first
time with Luke as wonderful and special.
