It was our wedding day. It had been a hot July 4th. Our wedding was in a little country church with no air conditioning. The wedding was a very nice, simple ceremony. The reception was at the bride’s house. We left for Nashville a bit after 3:00 in the afternoon.
My buddies had painted my black 1964 Chevrolet Super Sports with white shoe polish. We stopped in Nashville to wash the shoe polish off before it permanently damaged the paint. (We were too late!)
We got to the Holiday Inn about 4:30 and checked in. We found our room and went inside. I suitably darkened the room by pulling the shades while my bride changed in the bathroom. She came out wearing a beautiful negligee, not white but purple.
The sex was wonderful, sweet and loving. It was the first time for both of us. By dinner, we had three episodes under our belts. By morning, a total of ten! A wonderful night of marital bliss! A delicious tiredness! And sheet-burned knees! Quite a night, huh? Just remember, we had twenty-three years of catching up to do in just one night.
By the way, we are still married. To each other, yet! We celebrated our twenty-sixth wedding anniversary this year. We are still happy, but I have to admit the sex has slowed considerably.
