I was 14 years old and dating an 18 year old boy. I was so idealistic and naive, I thought this was “love”. My father’s girlfriend’s daughters and I were having a house party – I think Pink Champale was the drink of choice. I was sick to my stomach that this was it, but also wanted to fit in and to feel loved by my boyfriend. We drove to an empty parking lot a few blocks away – the parking lot of my elementary school! We crawled into the back seat and started fooling around. Eventually, Dwayne dropped his pants and I squirmed out of mine. He was on top of me, unrolled a condom (at least I hope he did) and guided himself into me. It didn’t exactly hurt and I remember thinking, “I am having sex right now. This is sex. I am having SEX.” It, and he, didn’t last very long and suddenly, there were headlights through the rear windshield. Lovely, the police. Dwayne directed me to stop moving and stay down. I didn’t want to get caught because my mother would have a cow. My parents were divorced and my father was obviously oblivious to where his 14 year old daughter was on one of his custodial weekends. So I was afraid of my mom, my dad, the police, and for being stupid and getting caught having sex for the first time in the back of a crappy car in a parking lot. When the police left, we crawled back into the front seat and Dwayne drove us back to the party. I wanted to feel grown up and mature, but I felt slutty and alone instead. I had a lingering sensation of pressure between my legs. We had sex a few more times, none of them for my pleasure, including on the edge of the sink in a 7-11 where he worked. Totally demeaning to me.
Looking back, I realize he had a lot to lose if we had gotten caught. I think the correct charge is statutory rape since I was jail bait and he was legal. He is also black, I am white. He would have been fucked if the police found us, a 14 year old girl scared and half naked in the back of a dark Westchester County elementary school parking lot. Stupid boy.
