Summer of 1960 (?) Our next door neighbor’s husband worked for the post office on a train from LA to San Diego. This left her alone for a day or so at a time. One evening the neighborbood decided to play hide and Go Seek, Sue noticed how much fun it was and joined in. I stayed with her like a young protector should. She noticed and wondered why I was always by her side, so I told her that she smelled good. A few days later I saw her husband leave and she was sitting on the front porch (another warm California summer eve) She wanted to know if we were going to get the game together again tonight. She wanted to play the game in her house. That was fine with me. Well the rest is easy to guess and I have never forgotten her.
